Accentuate Cleavage

Cleavage is the space between a woman's breasts that is frequently exposed by dresses with low necklines, swimwear, lingerie, ball gowns or other garments. Cleavage has been accentuated through clothing styles and undergarments since the Middle Ages. Whether a woman's breasts are small or large, there are ways to accentuate cleavage. If you want to learn how to accentuate cleavage, follow these steps.

Steps

  1. Wear articles of clothing that have low necklines. Tube tops, V-neck shirts and camisoles are a few of the tops you can wear that will reveal cleavage.
  2. Determine your correct bra size. Go to a lingerie store or visit the intimates section at a department and seek out someone who knows how to correctly measure your bust. Many women find out they're wearing a bra that's too small or too large. A bra that is too small will make your breasts look flattened and compressed, which won't enhance your cleavage. A bra that is too large won't give your breasts enough support to create cleavage.
  3. Wear a padded or push-up bra. These bras will give your breasts greater contour and shape, which will in turn accentuate your cleavage.
  4. Wear jewelry. A necklace pendant placed strategically above your cleavage will draw attention not only to the jewelry, but to your cleavage as well.
  5. Exercise the muscles in your chest. Building up chest muscles, also known as the pectoral muscles, will help raise your breasts, which can enhance your cleavage. Exercises like the bench press, push ups or the chest dip are a few that will help build your chest muscles.
  6. Apply makeup. This can help create the appearance of larger breasts and more cleavage.
    • Put on your bra before applying makeup. If possible, get completely dressed and protect clothing in the area where you'll be applying the makeup with some facial tissue or toilet paper.
    • Apply a dark bronzer or powder down the middle of your chest, in between your breasts. Create a V-shape along the natural curve of the breast while blending the color upward and outward.
    • Brush white or light gold face powder or eye shadow on the top half of your breasts.
    • Blend the area where the 2 colors meet with a makeup sponge.
    • Evaluate the results. If you want to create more dramatic cleavage, deepen the color in between your breasts.
  7. Get a spray tan. There are many tanning facilities available with individuals who know how to spray tan around your cleavage to make it more visible.

Tips

  • When exercising your chest muscles to help increase cleavage, seek the advice of a professional trainer to assess you and give you the best workout routine for your desired results.

Warnings

  • When using makeup to enhance cleavage, don't use too much makeup or powders that are too shimmery. This will give your cleavage an unnatural look.
