Access Cerberus Network Content
Cerberus Network is the online download center for the BioWare video game Mass Effect 2. The Network appears on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC versions of the game. You can access it in the same basic fashion on each platform. You need to log in using a Cerberus Network card to access the game's downloadable content. It is important to have an active Internet connection to access the download center. You can choose from a list of downloadable content packages, some free and some that need to be paid for. Any online content you decide to download will show up in your copy of the game.

Steps
- Start up Mass Effect 2.
- Find your Cerberus Network card. The Cerberus Network card comes with your copy of the game. The card contains a code that allows you to access the game's downloadable content. You only need to enter the code once.
- With physical versions of Mass Effect 2, the card is included with the booklet. With digital versions of the game, a card is emailed to you.
- Input the access code when the game prompts you for it.
- Select the "Downloadable Content" option on the main menu.
- Choose a download package from the Cerberus Network list and click on it.
- For paid downloadable content you will need to input your credit card information and transfer the appropriate funds to the online platform (Playstation Network, Xbox Live Marketplace, BioWare store) you are using in order to purchase it.
- Confirm the download.
Tips
- Use the short descriptions for each download package in the Cerberus Network list to decide what online content you want to see in your copy of the game. The content includes extra missions, alternate costumes and additional characters. Remember that each package manifests itself in the game in different ways.
- You can purchase a new Cerberus Network card online if you bought a used copy of Mass Effect 2 or lost your game data and your card. Cards are available for purchase on Xbox Live Marketplace, Playstation Network and Bioware's online store.
- For some of the download packages, in-game emails will be sent to the player's character detailing the use of the content. The emails can be accessed using a computer terminal on the player's ship.
- If getting a connection timed out message when connecting to the Cerberus network, try disabling the "Block ICMP Ping" option on your router/firewall.
Warnings
- Any online content you have downloaded from the Cerberus Network will not show up in Mass Effect 2 until you quit completely out of the game and start it up again.
- Each profile on the same platform can use the downloaded content in game. However, the content will still appear in the Cerberus Network list for users who did not activate the download.
- Downloadable content that was part of limited-time promotions does not appear in the Cerberus Network list if you did not purchase Mass Effect 2 and activate the Network in the appropriate time frame.
