Adjust the Length of Time the Garage Door Opener Light Stays on
Does it annoy you when the light of the garage door opener goes off before you get in the house? Well, now you can adjust the length of time it stays on, and get in the house with time to spare.
Steps
- Take a ladder and look at the very back of your garage door opener. There should be two dials, flat with numbers around them, and a slot in the middle. One of the dials is the distance or speed your door opens /closes. The other is to adjust the lights timing.
- Using a flat but thin screwdriver, slowly turn the one for the light. Turn to the right (clockwise) to increase the time, or to the left (counter clockwise) to decrease.
- Only turn about an 1/8 of an inch at a time.
- After each {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} turn, test the opener to see if the light is on long enough.
Warnings
- This is only true for certain, older models of electric operators. Check with your local garage door dealer for assistance.
