Apply Casual Makeup
Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought you should apply casual make up before you head out the door for school/work? This article explains how to apply make up and still look casual (and hot).
Steps
- Make sure you have the right materials. You don't have to buy all the fancy products at the expensive beauty store. Inexpensive (but good quality) make up will lower your budget and keep you looking great! If you need to, make a list of specific items you want to buy. Example: eye shadow, concealer, mascara, etc.
- Look at yourself. Will pink eye shadow look natural but also bring out your hazel eyes? Will that black eye liner look good on you because it matches your hair? It takes a while, but you must become color coordinated. Also, take a look at your outfit and jewelry. This has a huge impact on how your make up looks. You don't want to wear black and white clothes, then use bright neon blue eye shadow.
- What are you waiting for? Try it on! Try on your make up as soon as you get it. That purple eyeliner will only look good if YOU know it will look good.
- For everyday use, don't wear foundation, as it will cause blemishes. If you really have to, use mineral foundation because it is actually good for your skin. If you are going out in the sun, use a foundation or powder with SPF 15 or more to prevent unsightly sunburn.
- For eye shadow, apply a medium shade up to your crease. If you like, you can enhance your crease with a chocolate brown color, but be sure to blend.
- If you want to wear eyeliner, and you want to look casual, try brown or black-brown. Line one third of your top lash line and two thirds of the bottom lash line. Smudge the line with a cotton bud for a softer, smokier look.
- Mascara is a must- it will make your eyes pop. If you wish, you can curl your eyelashes. Black or black-brown mascara will work fine. Make sure the mascara isn't clumpy- if it is, comb your lashes with a lash comb (usually attached to a brow brush) or a lice comb. (Make sure it's clean!) If your mascara is thick and clumpy, you might need to buy a new one.
- Natural or nude lip colors work best for everyday use. Use Chap Stick before applying lipstick to prevent your lips from drying out. Lip stain in a natural color works well, because it isn't chalky and it doesn't have shine.
- Check to see if it looks casual. The bright red lipstick goes bye-bye until the prom.
Tips
- Make sure it looks natural! If it doesn't, you can always change your makeup.
- Take your time! If you do not have a lot of time to apply make up in the morning, apply it when you get to work/school. If you do not take your time, it will just look sloppy and messy.
