Automatically Redirect Incoming Messages to Another E Mail Account

Message redirection: When an email message is redirected automatically to another account specified by the User, without letting the receiver know that the message (email) was delivered by way of your account is called Message Redirection.

Steps

  1. If you are using a newer version of MS Office Outlook go to File > Info> Manage rules and alerts, or if you are using an older version of Ms Office Outlook from the Tools menu click Rules and Alerts. The next steps are pretty much the same for both versions.
  2. Click "New Rule...".
  3. Click "Apply rule on messages I receive" under "Start from a blank rule" and click "Next" to open the next Rules Wizard window.
  4. Select conditions by checking the boxes next to "sent only to me" and "when my name is in the To or Cc box" and click "Next".
  5. Select action(s), select the "forward it to people or public group" check box. Under "Edit the rule description", click "people or public group".
  6. Enter a new email address for redirection in a Rule Address window, and then click OK.
  7. Click Next twice.
  8. Specify a name for this rule, type a name and click "Finish".
  9. You will be able to see your new rule in the Rules and Alerts window. Click "Apply" and than "OK".

Tips

  • The following steps explain how to create and apply to your Inbox or one of your private folders. To create a rule for a public folder, you must do so from the folder's Properties dialog box. (For version 2003 and above)

Warnings

  • It is not recommended to forward or redirect email messages to an email address outside your organization.In fact, many organizations regard the automatic forwarding of messages to an external address a violation of their policy on network and computer use.
