Be Cool at a Pool Party
Congrats! You have been invited to an awesome pool party! Now what? You haven't been to one in a while and forgot what happens. Don't fret! Read ahead!
Steps
- Choose a cute bathing suit. Pick one that flatters your shape! Try on a few different styles and pick your favorite.
- Bring the essentials! Bring a towel, flip flops, and anything that the invitation said to bring. Don't forget the present if it is a birthday!
- Put your things in a cute tote bag. You will get a lot of compliments.
- Figure out what to wear. Great! You have bought all the things you need! Wear your bathing suit, flip flops, sunglasses, and remember your bag!
- If you want to wear a cover up (recommended), wear some short-shorts and a light tee. Maybe a normal white v-neck. OR, wear a towel dress cover up! This way you won't walk in the house wearing a bikini and having awkward moments.
- Make sure that you have directions and your essentials when you leave for the party!
- Try not to be too early or too late. 10 minutes after the party started is a good time because everyone will be there ready to talk to you. Also, you will attract attention and people will see your rocking outfit.
- Relax and knock on the door. You are there! You are outside their house. A bit nervous? It is okay! Take a deep breath and be excited to see your friends!
- Ring the doorbell and be patient. Say hello to whoever opens the door. (the parent?) Don't look eager to go in the pool. Ask, "How are you?" and other polite questions. If you wore a cover up, politely ask if there is a place you can change.
- When you're done changing, go out to the pool area! If it's a birthday, greet the birthday person with a happy birthday.
- Be open! When you see someone say "Hey!" and give them a hug! Pretty soon everyone will be saying hey and giving you a hug. This will make you look popular.
- Go to your friends and have fun! Say hi to some guys and remember to play with them.
- Be a bit flirty. Push a guy-friend into the pool or have a water gun fight with them. This will make you look approachable.

- Don't be afraid to swim any way you want, even if it is weird looking!
Warnings
- Make sure to at least have a short conversation with everyone and don't leave in the middle of a conversation so you can go say hi to someone else. If you do that you'll seem like you're not good friends with anyone there.
- Don't be too wild. If you're constantly jumping around, splashing, and yelling a lot, people won't want to be around you.
- Do not stay with just one group!
