[hide]Steps
- Choose good clothing and a good hairstyle. If you are creating a new account, you can do this right away. There is also a clothing shop in Varrock, and a barbershop in Falador.
- Become a member. Members get more in-game benefits, and rare members' items can help you seem cooler.
- Advance a skill to level 99. Members can get a corresponding skillcape.
- Get some good-looking and expensive armour. Generally speaking, the more expensive it is, the more respect you will gain. Gold trimmed armor works well in free-to-play worlds. However, if you cannot afford much, just get the best you can for your level.
- Look cool battling. Use the best weapons and armor for your level, if you can afford them. Items such as the Abyssal Whip may be members-only, but can also make your character seem cooler.
- Don't beg other players for money. Most people find this extremely annoying and it doesn't help you become cooler.
- Talk to people. Be friendly. Don't be mean or condescending.
- Don't use bot programs to automate tasks. The most hated players on RuneScape use bots, and high level bots often get banned.
Tips
- Do not call people noobs, this is incredibly annoying. If you are a high level, remember that YOU were a noob at some point!
Warnings
- Don't say you have stuff that you really don't. (For example, if you borrow a party hat, do not claim it is yours.) It is easy to tell if something really belongs to someone and lying just makes you seem desperate for attention.
- People can be mean, but if you are mean in return, the situation only worsens.
- If someone is mean to you, just ignore them. If they swear at you, report them.
