Become a Famous Writer

If you want to be a famous writer, young or old, this is the page for you. Dreams can come true, and if you set yourself to it, this article can help. Also, if you want a group of authors with nonstop creative ideas, you can.

Steps

  1. Make sure that you really want to be a writer. There is no point in doing all of this work if you still aren't sure about it! Be confident in yourself, and know that you can do it even if you are unsure.
  2. Read many books. It is okay to start off with easy books and work your way up. Try to read as much so, you can to become familiar with words.
  3. Create a ten page book on a subject you enjoy. When you have finished your book, expand it. Keep on doing this, but with different kinds of stories such as History, Magic, (etc.)
  4. Write as often as possible. Write something every day, even if it is only a nonsense word or a small, free verse poem. If you want to write for TV, and you can afford it, Google 'professional TV advisors' and get help from the professionals.
  5. You could also write a journal. It will help you feel how it is to write. Even if it is fiction or non-fiction. You need to get the hang of it!
  6. Submit them one by one. Let your stories be read. Soon after, you'll probably be recognized by a magazine or website.
  7. Never give up! Even if you've been waiting for a while to see if anyone likes your writing, wait! Patience is the key. And if someone doesn't like it, ask someone else to look at it. Maybe a friend or a family member. Don't let your hopes down!
  8. Write! Write what you are interested in reading about. Let your characters be real to you, and know them all from Eve. Love your characters like they are your best friends.
  9. Try to expand your vocabulary. When you come across a new word, don't just skip it- learn it! Then apply some new words you've learned to your daily conversation or in your writing.
  10. Try getting some other people to read and give you suggestions. See if you like them!
  11. Post your matter on net or open a blog and upload it online.
  12. Advertise through social media like Facebook or Twitter.

Tips

  • Get a first draft written. Do not even think about editing until a draft is finished! Write now, edit later.
  • Create your fan base on Facebook and Twitter. Share your accomplishments and let friends and fans know when you will start and finish your next novel, story, poem, etc.
    • Be original and make sure you're comfortable with your writing.
  • Don't wait for inspiration, pick a time everyday to write. Always write something down, even if its speed pages, a character log, or a journal entry. Staring at a blank page will get you nowhere.
  • Create a new persona for yourself. For example, J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter is an easy name to remember because it's unusual. Tweak your name into remembrance!
  • Writing is like any other job. You slog on through the work whether or not you enjoy it. The main thing is to get the words done
  • If you are in the middle of a story and you come up with an idea for another story, you can either write it down to remember to do it later, or leave it. However it is best not to abandon a story you have already written. Try to see it through to the end. If this is absolutely impossible, feel free to start on your new idea.
  • Post it on the net first to gain publicity. Advertise through accounts on instagram, twitter and fb or wattpad.
  • Also create a blog and keep on posting on it. You gain publicity, you become popular.

Warnings

  • Never restrain yourself. You'll feel repressed and people won't see your real writing style.
  • Never copy other book ideas or quotes from other stories without legal permission.
  • It is probably best not to show it to your friends and family. Although they may enjoy reading it, they may not give you and constructive criticism you can work with, and make you overly confident in what you have already written, and closed off to editing and improving.
  • Normally, people are addicted to sci-fi and romance, try to make a fusion! ;-)
  • There is no such thing as writer's block.
