Steps

  1. Place the rubber vise clamp on the middle of the shaft.
  2. Place the shaft in the vise at the point of the rubber vise clamp and tighten.
  3. Cut a piece of 2-inch two-sided grip tape the length of the grip.
  4. Place this piece of tape on the length; on the grip end of the shaft and fold it around.
  5. Plug the hole on the bottom of the grip with your finger and fill it more than halfway with grip solvent.
  6. Release the plug and pour the solvent on the grip tape.
  7. Slide the grip onto the tape.
  8. From the club head end, cut the shaft to the desired length using the cutoff wheel on a bench grinder.
  9. Using a strip of 1-inch thick sanding paper, sand the tip of the shaft to make a rough surface to which the epoxy will adhere.
  10. Place the ferrule on the end of the shaft and tap it down, leaving an inch of the shaft exposed.
  11. Mix the two shafting epoxies together with the popsicle stick at a 1:1 ratio in a medicine cup.
  12. Apply the epoxy mix to the sanded tip of the shaft.
  13. Place the shaft into the hole on the desired club head and rotate until the epoxy bonds.
  14. Wipe any excess epoxy off, and set the club aside for a few hours so that it can dry. You are finished!
