Calculate Run Rate in Cricket

Steps

Be aware of what score the batting team have got.
Find out how many overs the bowling side has bowled
Now that you have the runs and the amount of overs bowled you need to either use a calculator or work it out yourself, so basically what you do is, if the batting side are on 90 from 12 overs then, you would divide 90 by 12, now this equals 7.5, so that batting side are going on at a 7.5 an over run rate.
You can also find out an individual bowlers stats this way, to do this say the bowler has bowled 4 overs and gone for 16 runs, you would divide 16 by 4 and then you would know, that bowler is conceding 4 an over on average.
this is also how they work out bowling statistics for wicket taking, so for example, if a bowler had got two wickets for 9 runs. You would take the nine and divide it by two, and then you would know that on average that bowler is taking a wicket every 4.5 runs he is conceding.

If you are doing this at a high standard, in league cricket, make sure you don't get it wrong, so if you are scoring and it is essential the run rate is recorded, take a calculator in case the equations to work it out are more complex than others.
