Care for Leather Interior
Caring for leather car interiors is quite easy, contrary to what some car buyers may think.
Steps
- Vacuum often. Vacuuming regularly is one of the best ways to extend the life of your leather car interior. If a vacuum can't get rid of the problem, a soft damp cloth may work wonders. Make sure to remove excess water from the leather afterwards by using a soft dry cloth.
- If you purchase leather cleaner, be sure to consult your car's owner's manual for proper instructions on how to use the cleaner. Avoid cleaners with detergents that may be harsh on your leather car interior and cause it dry and crack.
- Avoid rips. Avoiding rips and tears are a crucial point in leather interior upkeep. Avoid keeping sharp or rough objects, like zippers, keys or cell phones, on the leather interior. Also keep objects like pens away from leather surfaces to prevent stains; they can be harder to remove from a leather interior than a fabric interior.
