Check an Embarq Email Account

If you are a Centurylink customer (formerly Embarq and Centurytel) and you are wondering how to log into your email account, the following steps should help get you in.

Steps

  1. Visit http://www.centurylink.net
  2. Click one of the link that says Email on the right side of the screen next to Help. Alternatively, you can also click on either of the two Log In links as well if you do not see the Email link.
  3. When the page loads, type your username into the username box. The username is the part before the @centurylink.net.
  4. Select your email domain from the list next to the username box. Usually it says @embarqmail.com, but if your email isn’t @embarqmail.com (such as @centurylink.net or @centurytel.net) than you will have to change this to your particular domain.
  5. Type your password into the password box.
  6. Hit Log in.
  7. If you are returned to the homepage, hit the Email link again and it should take you right into your email. Otherwise, it should automatically bring you in after hitting Log in.

Tips

  • If you try logging in and it fails, but doesn't give you an error message (such as the username or password being wrong), try clearing your cookies and temporary files.
  • If you don't know your username or password, or it isn't working, contact technical support. You can chat with them by using the Chat For Help button on the Email page, or by calling 1-800-366-8201. You will need to be able to verify your account, so have your account number ready.

Warnings

  • Multiple failed log in attempts will lock your email account for a few minutes, so if it doesn't work after the first couple tries, contact technical support. You may have the wrong username or password.

  • If you don't have an email account, you will need your account number and either your DSL phone number or Dial Up ID. You can click the Email link and then Create Account to begin creating an account.
