Clear Ants off a Deck

When ants start making colonies under and around your deck you really need help. There are various things you can do depending on their numbers and resiliency.

Steps

  1. Fill a large bucket full of very hot water (use gloves to avoid scalding your hands).
  2. Go to the site of the ants and dump the entire bucket down. Repeat until the water covers the entire surface and all ants are gone.
  3. An easier way is to flood them out using your water hose, and this is especially effective when flushing them out from underneath your deck.

Tips

  • Always make sure the area is cleared of people.
  • Make sure you stand far enough away to avoid scalding yourself.

  • Watch out for friendly bugs and vermin.
