Cook Sponge Cucumber
Sponge cucumber is a very common vegetable in Taiwan. The following is some descriptions about how to cook a sponge cucumber. Hope it will be helpful. And hope you will succeed in doing it.
Steps
- Peel the sponge cucumber, then cut it into small pieces with a kitchen knife.
- Turn on the burner.
- Put oil into the boiler and then some ginger.
- Wait until the ginger's color changes,and then turn off the heat.
- Add some water into it. Then turn on the fire,and after the water is boiled,put the sponge cucumber into the boiler.
- Cover the lid of the boiler.Wait for a while and then stir-fry the sponge cucumber with the turner.
- Add half a teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of gourmet powder.
- Finished.
Tips
- (In step 6)You have to put water into the boiler first and then put sponge cucumber into the boiler. You can't reverse the order. If you put sponge cucumber first and then water,sponge cucumber will turn black.
- When you peel the sponge cucumber,you can't peel it with too much strength,or the sponge cucumber may break off from the middle.
Warnings
- Be sure to turn off the fire before you add water,or the boiled oil will splash out,and you may be scalded.
- Too much gourmet powder is not good for your health. Therefore, don't add too much.
