Steps
- Brush out all tangles and knots in your hair. (It's hard to work with tangled and knotty hair)
- Gather all hair up in a high ponytail. (On top of your head)
- Secure with an elastic with the same color as your hair. (Black hair= Black hair elastic), Making a little 'donut' shape.
- 'Split' the donut in half, creating an unfinished bow.
- Pull and tug a bit to tighten the bow.
- With the rest of the hair hanging out, Put it in the middle.
- Bobby pin in place.
- Finished.
Creating a Bow Headband
- Brush your hair to remove any knots or tangles.
- Grab two front sections of hair measuring about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} in width. Bring both sections at the front of your head just above your ear from either side.
- Bring the sections towards the back of your head. Loop them as if you're tying up a shoelace.
- When you've finished making the bow, push a bobby pin through the knot to secure. Repeat if needed.
- Spritz with hairspray or water. Your bow is complete.
Tips
- Try using a hair tie that is the same color as your hair so that it doesn't show and pull the attention away from your masterpiece!
- Don't pull the donut bun too hard or it will loosen up and you'll not have a full bow.
- Keep it neat with bobby pins.
- If you have short-medium hair, instead of doing a full hair bow, do a half-up, half-down hair bow.
- Always get your hair trimmed if you have uneven hair.
Warnings
- Don't use a hairbrush with broken bristles. This damages your hair, making it knotty.
- Be gentle with your hair.
