Do Pigtails

Simple, stylish, and adorable pigtails in ten minutes!

Steps

  1. Brush your hair so it's smooth and nice. If it's really greasy, oily, and gross, wash it first.
  2. Part your hair evenly down the middle. If you have side bangs, part your hair straight down your scalp beginning from where you part your bangs.
  3. Brush your hair again. Make sure no hair is misplaced!
  4. Take one side of your parted hair and hold it in your hand. Take your brush with your other hand and brush it through.
  5. Determine how high or low you want the pigtails to be. And if you want the pigtails to be at the very sides of your hair, or slightly angled behind.
  6. Take your hair tie and tie the hair you are holding. Make it nice!
  7. Repeat steps four through six with the other side.
  8. Make sure that both sides are even and placed correctly. You don't want it to look weird, now do you? If it's crazy hair day, that's an exception.
  9. Finished.

Tips

  • If you have bangs, don't straighten them. Or anything unless they look especially horrid and you absolutely have to fix 'em up.
  • If you'd like, add some hair shine. Shiny...
  • Try to make it look nice with no stray strands- It's cuter that way.
  • Try curling your hair before you do pigtails. Just don't brush them too much or they'll come out. This works better with longer hair.
  • Match the colours of the hair ties with your outfit! Oh gosh, gorgeousness.
  • If you're making high pigtails, make sure you brush your hair from the side that is facing down.

Warnings

  • Refrain from hurting yourself. e.i., stabbing yourself in the throat with your comb, accidentally brushing your ear so hard that it falls off, inhaling and gagging on your shine spray, burning your face off with the curling iron, etc. None of this will really happen to you, but, who doesn't want to be on the safe side?
