Steps
- Reach out with opposite hands. You and your friend or another person should reach hands out like you're about to do an ordinary handshake, but reach out the opposite hands. If you want, you can use the same hands, but it's not really the same.
- Slap, Bang, Or Grab. There are a few choices you can make here. Once you and your friend have reached your hands out, you can do a variety of things:curl them into fists and bang them against each other slap them against each other
- Or you can act like you're going to do an ordinary handshake and then grab each others hands instead. Note: Whatever you choose to do, grabbing each other's hands is an essential part of the gangsta handshake and will have to be included. You can choose whether to add in a slap or bang before the grab, or you can just limit to the grab.
- Add The Grab. If you've chosen to do a slap or bang with your friend/s, you'll need to add in the hand grab. Simply act like you're going to do a normal handshake, but grab each other's hands instead. If you've already done the grab, then just take it from there.
- Bang Shoulders. This is one of the most important parts of the gangsta handshake, so don't forget it! From the grab, lean towards your friend and bang shoulders with them. You don't have to bang each other across the room, but at the same time, a confident bang will pull off the handshake much better than a shy one.
- You can add your own moves to make the handshake a trademark for your own gang. Add some fancy finger work, extra moves, or maybe even something you say to each other each time you do the handshake.
- Put it to use. No point having a gangsta handshake if you don't use it! Use your handshake each time you and your friends separate, or before something big is about to happen, like a performance. Don't be embarrassed to do it in front of other people-it's part of being a gangster.
Tips
- If you're doing a friend that's bigger than you, be careful with the bang or you may end up hurting yourselves and looking like a bunch of gawky idiots. Similarly, be careful if the person you're doing it with is significantly smaller than you.
- If you're doing this handshake for fun, that's great. But if you're doing this to try to look like a gangster, just because you think it's cool, then you'll probably get yourself called a poser.
Warnings
- Do not attempt at job interviews.
- Do not replicate handshakes of real gangsters if you are not a part of the gang.
- This handshake may put you in pain if the other person is bigger than you.
