Draw Snoopy

Snoopy from Peanuts is a little dog with a big imagination, and though he rarely speaks his mind, he’s got plenty of character. Whether you’re a fan of Charlie Brown’s dog in the newspaper comic or the cartoon Christmas special, this tutorial will help you learn to draw him easily. Let's begin!

Steps

Sitting Snoopy

  1. Draw an oval.
  2. Overlap it with a circle.
  3. Overlap both with another smaller oval.
  4. Overlap the big circle with an oval on the left edge.
  5. At the bottom make a shape as given.
  6. Join the cluster of ovals and the shape below with two straight lines.
  7. Attach a couple of straight lines on either side for the arms.
  8. Add two overlapping ovals for the feet.
  9. Add further circles on the edge of the arm lines.
  10. Make four circular digits on the edge of the circles for both hands.
  11. Put short lines for the eyes and a small oval for the nose.
  12. Draw all the details.
  13. Erase unwanted lines.
  14. Color the snoopy and apply soft shades to it.

Standing Snoopy

  1. Draw a horizontal oval.
  2. Overlap it with a smaller oval on its upper edge.
  3. Further overlap it with another oval on its right edge.
  4. Create a circle at the bottom at a distance.
  5. Join the above with a circle at the bottom
  6. Attach a couple of lines each on both sides for the arms.
  7. Drop down three short straight lines for the legs.
  8. Put small circles on either edge of the arms
  9. Create flat ovals at the base of the legs for the paws.
  10. Create flower-like circles around the hand-circles.
  11. Overdraw the guides with clean lines and add a tail.
  12. Erase all guidelines.
  13. Color your drawing and apply a bit of shade.



Tips

  • Snoopy has many friends and takes on many pursuits in the Peanuts series. If you want to add embellishments of his doghouse or Woodstock the bird standing next to him, it would help portray him even better.
  • Be careful when you erase so you don't erase your drawing.
  • Draw lightly in pencil so that you can easily rub out mistakes.
  • Use a soft, white eraser.
