Fade Your Blue Jeans With Lemon Juice

Wish you could fade your jeans without bleach?

Here's a simple technique that gives you plenty of time to check on your results!

Steps

  1. Set up this project outdoors.
  2. Gather your jeans, quart of concentrated lemon juice, a bucket, clothespins and water hose. Bring them over to the clothesline.
  3. Soak your jeans with the hose and wring them out fairly well.
  4. Place your jeans in the bucket and cover them with the entire quart of concentrated lemon juice.
  5. Let your jeans soak for several hours. Return to them periodically to check on the fading process.
  6. Remove the jeans from the bucket and hang them on the clothesline.
  7. Rinse the jeans thoroughly with the water hose.
  8. Repeat the process, if desired.
  9. Let your jeans dry in the sun to enhance the fading process.

Tips

  • If you're dissatisfied with the fade, use Rit dye in the washing machine to darken your jeans.
  • Repeat this process, at a later time, to lighten the fade for a different look.
