Fold a Newspaper

Ever considered whether there is an easier way to read a paper on a crowded bus, train, or plane? There is - by folding it before you read it. Here is how to perfect a simple but effective trick.

Steps

  1. Find your desired page by leafing through the paper, using the top corners. This takes up little space and provides for better handling.
  2. Fold the left page back along the vertical crease. You will be able to read the outer columns of the left and right pages. To read the inner columns, fold both pages back along the newspaper's center crease.
  3. Fold the paper half horizontally then half vertically to end up with quadrants for better handling. Preferably fold the paper before boarding public transportation.

Tips

  • Recycle when you are finished with a newspaper.
  • Fold the newspaper before you get into a crowded transportation vehicle or you will not get a chance!
  • It is easier to navigate through newspapers that you are familiar with as the same topics are typically placed in the same areas of the newspaper.

Warnings

  • Don't hide behind that paper and pretend you cannot see those more in need of you for a seat; where appropriate, give up your seat to pregnant women, handicapped people, and the elderly.

Things You'll Need

  • Newspaper
  • Flat surface (if available).
