Get Your Independent Movie Listed on IMDB
Here is how you can get your independent film listed in IMDB. An example can be seen at this IMDB profile: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2725788.
Steps
- Burn 2 copies of your completed movie on DVD, and put these in some kind of case.
- Register with www.createspace.com
- Follow the instructions to get your film title listed on CreateSpace. You will need to send the 2 DVD copies.
- Wait about two to six weeks (usually two to three, actually; but sometimes they get backed up). Once your title is registered with CreateSpace, it will get a listing on Amazon.com (which just happens to own the IMDB)
- Go to the IMDB New Title Form at http://www.imdb.com/updates?update=title and enter all the information you have for your title.
- You must have a website for your film otherwise it will not be listed.
- Wait. It usually takes about two to six weeks from there.
Tips
- When entering info into IMDb Submission Form, put the link to your product on Amazon in the "Miscellaneous Links" section for better results.
- Make sure all information is accurate.
- Keep your patience. It takes a while for us indies to get our titles listed.
Warnings
- As much information as you can provide about release dates, etc. will be really helpful.
- It may take several weeks, or even a few months, to get your title listed. Don't give up.
