Google’s Advice
Today, Information Technology is one of the highest -demand and best-paying careers. However, not everyone can afford to go to university. There are other options such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) or online tutorials on YouTube and technical websites.
Currently, some technology companies such as Google, Apple, IBM, etc. announced that they are hiring people who have the skills that they need even without a college degree. But many people do not know what their needs are until now that Google posted its advice as follows: “This guide is a suggested path for University students to develop their technical skills academically and non-academically through self-paced hands-on learning … The online resources provided in this guide are not meant to replace courses available at your University. However, they may help supplement your learnings or provide an introduction to the topic.”
Although it is intended for college students, I think it is an excellent information for anyone to learn about Google’s require for its software engineers, and follow this guide to learn Java, C++, Python, Machine learning, cloud computing, etc.
