Have a Great Time at a Flea Market
If you've never been to a flea market, you don't know what you're missing. With a little help, it's easy to have a great time at a flea market. Find out how.
Steps
- Pick a flea market. If you live in a big city, there might even be a bunch of flea markets near each other. See external links.
- Decide on what you want to do. Some people love having no plan at all, but for some people, they overspend if they don't have a specific item in mind.
- Make a budget for yourself, if necessary.
- At the flea market, even if you see one vendor with exactly what you want, don't be restrained to only that vendor. There may be even better deals if you just look around. However, ignore this rule if you see someone else who wants to buy the same thing as you.
- Once you've decided on the item which you want to buy, haggle. If it's $100, offer $70, for example.
- If the vendor won't back down, you'll have to decide how much you want the item. If it really is a reasonable price, take it.
- Enjoy your newly bought item!
Tips
- There is no such thing as a vendor's "final price."
Warnings
- Don't get sucked into paying more for an item then what it's worth, sometimes things like that happen if you let the vendor take advantage of you.
Things You'll Need
- Money
- Wear comfy clothes, and keep your money in your pocket, rather than in a purse. You won't want to lug around a bag all day.
- If you're with someone, make sure they're prepared to spend as much time as you are.
