Know Jesus As Your Personal Saviour
Jesus said, "Unless you be born again, you shall not enter the Kingdom of God (St. John 3:3). A life of meaning and purpose is found, "at your door"! Jesus said, "See, I stand at the door and knock, and if any hear my voice, open the door and invite me in; I will come in and we will feast together..."(Revelation 3:20)
This may be from an Evangelist and brought to you by the Spirit of God so you can say:
"I'd been lost and I'm now found again!"
You may have not done so many of certain bad things like "theft, assault, drinking alcohol excessively, or drug abuse", and so on but you discover that all have sinned in other ways like not taking life seriously, being intimate with the opposite sex a lot and not being truthful to other people.
You can live a new life and tell people to know that it is great to be a Born Again Christian.

Steps
- Recognize that, according to The Bible, you are a sinner and have fallen short of God's standard. You have broken God's Law (the 10 commandments). You must understand that you are a natural-born-sinner, and deserve God's punishment for your selfish ways. Although, you must also take into consideration that certain groups of Jesus' early followers did not see things this way.
- You must come to the Biblical understanding that Christ died for you, and that his death on the cross was his paying the penalty for your sins and mine. He willingly took the punishment for you while you were like a stranger and like an "enemy."
- According to Christianity consistent with the Bible you must repent and turn away from your sins once and for all. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and surrender your life to Him. Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. "All things can work out for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to God's purpose." You can start to gain ground as a Brother of Jesus, and your ways can be in the light beyond the tunnel.
- Confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and agreeing with Jesus means: be born again of water and the Spirit to enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)
- Get yourself a Bible and start reading it. Then follow up that with readings in the Bible, the Holy canon. Come to realize that there have been several books deemed sacred by some that were abandoned in the process of canonization by agreement to the consistency of doctrine and to the historical accuracy.
- Find yourself a church that believes in salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus alone as opposed to an alternative tradition and see which would bring agreement and peace in faith. You may want to start a Ministry of Holy Spirit for ALL who believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ, believing that all good Churches are one and the word of God is one for ALL generations.
- Talk to a pastor, or any other kind of Christian, such as a spiritual leader -- and tell him about the decision you have just made for Christ, and get Baptised to publicly proclaim the spiritual transformation and faith you now have.
- Receive Christ by repentance, confessing your sins to God and pray and ask to receive the Holy Spirit
- Avoid sabotaging your prayer life so be sure to pray effectually. "And when you pray, use no vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." (Matthew 6:7)[1]. Believe and accept that God already knows and cares...
Tips
- Christ asks that we simply abide in Him. So live your life in accordance with His word and live your life as it is not your own- you belong to Jesus Christ. It is Christ's life now, so live in sweet surrender knowing that you are now free and have been made alive since we were dead in our trespasses.
- If you meant the above Prayer from your heart, God has heard you and will forgive you.
- Read these examples of people who have gotten to know Jesus as their personal saviour.
Two Simple Keys to the Biblical Belief
1. Learn about Jesus and believe that He died, rose from the dead as your Savior and then talk to the one, true God. Repent - say and mean it that you want to change -- saying something similar to: "I am sorry for my sin, all my wrong doing; I want to change, and I truly thank you for your gift of The Holy Spirit and for everything you, Lord, have done, and that I am now forgiven and saved from the penalty for my sins as a free gift, in Jesus' name."
2. Now tell others that "There is one Christ Jesus, the Son of God, who is Lord and Savior for everyone who believes, repents and follows him:" which should include going to Christian meetings, being baptized as a sign of accepting your new life, seeking to be filled and led by the Holy Spirit, praying to God, taking communion ("The Lord's Supper"), showing God's love by kindness, forgiving others, making peace, agreeing in prayer with other believers, and when you sin asking for (and accepting) forgiveness, expecting consequences for some wrongs and going on, all in Christ Jesus' holy name -- with God the Father as the one, true Judge of all things good or bad.
Warnings
- You may soon give up some of the things you used to do. Your new found way, may lead to losing friends, as you grow more and more in your new found faith, you will find that true obedience is best. In this event, your free will should yield to the greater good, and thus you will share this saving message with others, so they too can become right with God.
- Some people may be unwilling to accept that you have the nerve to explain the Gospel to them even though you work up to it carefully, and could abandon you as a close friend. But that's okay: love them anyway! Jesus still loves you. The Bible says to go and convince them -- quote: "compel them" to come in to the feast.
- Praying "the prayer" and following the steps alone will not save you, if you don't truly repent/surrender to God through Jesus. It's the core belief from the heart not just the words that matter (There are no magic words or magic formula.).
- Some argue that while you are saved by faith (belief and trust in instruction received from God) that you must keep your faith and become rooted in the Word (still hold true to what saved you). Don't let your faith slip, but pray and study his word (The Bible) each day asking God to reveal his wisdom and guide your steps.
- Beware the Devil. The closer you grow to Jesus, the greater a target you become for the Devil who will sent temptations, try to tempt you, deceive you and trick you into leaving Jesus. But if you resist the Devil, he can not touch you ("Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you"). Remember also that your temptations come from the world and your own flesh too. There is nothing more powerful than Jesus Christ. Through Him all things are possible.
- Jesus Christ is the only "name" whereby you "must" be saved; yes, God is the just Judge of all things both good and bad...
