- Get a chic haircut. Amelie has very short, dark hair, in a bob style that is angled at the back, and also has chic short bangs on the forehead. Its called an A-line bob, if you wish to have this hairstyle, simply take a photo to a hairdresser and explain that this is what you would like. It is better to get a professional to do the cut, as the angling can be rather tricky. If you don't have enough money for a salon visit, try a cosmetics/hair school, where student hairdressers will cut your hair for a very small amount.

- Amelie's makeup is very subtle. She has excellent skin, and can be seen cleaning her face at night. She wears very little makeup, perhaps just a dusting of powder on her face to make her skin look even, and some mascara on her eyes.
- Dress with flair, and a feminine style. Amelie wears pretty skirts, most of which hit at the knee, and jackets which she pairs with darkly colored shirts. She favors solid colors: jewel tones such as dark red, green, yellow and purple. She occasionally wears polka-dots.
- Shoes: Amelie most often wears dark lace-up shoes with low heeled socks. Dr. Martens Oxfords look like her most common shoe. Ballet flats are also a good choice.
- Eating: Amelie cooks her own meals, and seems to eat sensibly. She cooks herself pasta, and seems to enjoy crème brûlée and berries. Eat nice, home-made food, but also eat what you wish. She is also very fond of walking, perhaps because this lets her observe people.
- Personality: Amelie is a quiet girl, a bit reserved, but also very, very kind. She is also very observant. She takes great care to notice how the people around her are, and also sees when people are upset. She doesn't worry much about her clothing, or making sure she looks just right, she is busy trying to help others, even when they don't know she's doing it.
Tips
- Know that although you want to be like this person, you are still yourself. Embrace your own personality.
- Keep an open mind, Amelie does not judge people and neither should you. She knows she has quirky little habits and that other people do too.
Warnings
- It's easy to get upset if you don't look exactly like your favorite movie character, but if your hair is blond, and Amelie's is brown, or your figure is larger or smaller than hers, don't make yourself sick or sad trying to change that. The most important thing when trying to act like Amelie isn't a hair cut or clothing, or figure or face: it's being kind to others and being content with yourself.
