Make "Puppy Chow" Snacks
Contrary to the name, this is not for dogs. This is a sugary-sweet chocolate peanut butter snack that every kid adores! (And even some adults, too!)
Ingredients
- 8-9 cups crispy rice cereal squares
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' (powdered) sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
Steps
- Get all the ingredients.
- Measure out the cereal. (8-9 c.)
- Melt the chocolate in a saucepan over low heat; add peanut butter and butter and then mix until smooth. (May do in microwave also)
- Remove from heat, add cereal and stir until coated.
- Pour powdered sugar into large paper bag, add coated cereal and shake until well coated. Store in airtight container.
- Finished.
Tips
- When using the microwave oven heat the chocolate in 15 second intervals to ensure it does not burn. Stir chocolate every 15 seconds to ensure the chocolate melts evenly!
- Instead of using the stove, you can put the things in the microwave.
- You can use Popcorn as a base as well.
Warnings
- Do NOT give to dogs! Chocolate has an ingredient called theobromine known to be poisonous to dogs.
- Not for people with nut allergies.
Things You'll Need
