Make Employees Feel Secure

A big difference to people and as employees is to managers that are seen and heard and do , these actions are more rewarding than a prize. Without a doubt, everyone has a need to be validated, and it never hurts to help make your employees feel secure by making them feel noticed and recognized. Here are some steps for achieving this.

Steps

  1. Be compassionate. This refers to having empathy for all employees both diverse and alike this translates in the sort of compassion we expect and need from the world we live in.
    • Acknowledge work well done
    • Say thank you
    • Show by way of gestures and words that you have noticed a job well done
  2. Validate for the sake of all - you, the employee, the company. Employees who go unnoticed don't know whether or not they're doing the right thing and doubt can creep into their minds. Validation is priceless at every level of interaction between persons. It is a key way of making your employees feel secure about their work, their input and ultimately, their job. In turn, they will give back far more when they know the effort is being recognized.
  3. Be understanding. People simply don't leave their problems and problematic personalities at home. Give one single moment of your real attention and really being there for this one employee who is going through hardship. No matter their role, each employee matters. Ask yourself if you the driver are more important than your tires, brakes, gas, or road. All is one and one is when all is together. Make your custodian the ambassador of cleanliness and comfort. Ask any green thumb or harvester of fruit which plant, tree, or vine they give the cleaner water to. Ask a NASCAR driver which part of his car is the most important, the pilot if there is a part he could confidently fly without, the composer of a classical symphony if any part or segment of song has more or less importance. You'll find you can't do without a single one of your competent employees.

Tips

  • You can never lose your smile because it's always under your nose. An unfurrowed brow and open eyes can help you see what's before you.
  • When a person understand that the boss/team/company needs, relies, depends, and counts on their efforts, it makes an enormous difference. Just tell those who might possibly lack a sense of security at work,"Did you know that I'm only secure when all that is holding me up or carrying me is secure too?".

Warnings

  • Do not seek rewards nor any personal gain aside from increased productivity, which may of itself lead to bonuses or promotion.
