Make Event Tickets

Knowing how to make event tickets can be key to the success of any events. Creating tickets is fun and easy, but you need to know how to be cost effective and work within your budget.

Steps

  1. Start by deciding on a budget. With the available online tools, you can go as simple as homemade and printed out of your personal printer to high-end with bar coding and holographic images on the tickets.
  2. Choose a design program if you plan to create your tickets yourself.
    • For creating tickets yourself, Microsoft Publisher or Microsoft Word are both easy tools to use to design your tickets. Because neither offers its own Microsoft template for tickets, though, you will need to hop out to the web and do a search for "Publisher" "ticket" "template" or "Microsoft Word" "ticket" "template" to find appropriate designs that will print on perforated Avery brand paper.
    • Alternatively, there are web-based programs that you can run through your browser. These allow you to add images, text, seating plan, barcodes etc, and then save a print file to print your own tickets.

  3. Select a printing company if you want a more professional looking ticket and/or you need bulk quantities. Depending on your budget and needs, look for printers that offer these options.
    • Wide variety of templates to choose from.
    • Security features including ticket numbering, barcodes, and thermal tickets.
    • Perforation for easier audience tracking.
    • Booklet stapling for organization.
    • Price, will depend on ticket design and number ordered, but can be as low as $.05/ticket.
    • Turnaround time.
    • Full-color designs.
  4. Begin the easy steps to design and order your tickets.
    • Choose a theme. You can start from scratch or choose one of many available templates available through the printer that you choose.
    • Select the ticket size and type that you want.
  5. Customize your design by making sure to include all of the pertinent information for your event. This can include date, time, venue, price, liability waiver, etc.
  6. Proof your design on screen, or ask for a pdf copy of the design to be emailed to you.
  7. Proceed to checkout to pay for your ticket order.
  8. Print a copy of your invoice to track your order, and then wait for your new tickets to arrive.

Tips

  • Use your ticket to set the mood for your event. Standard sizes may be perfect for events that require large quantities of tickets to be printed, but for smaller and/or higher-end events, unique sizes and/or outstanding design can make your event a must-attend affair.
