Make Home Made Fly Trap
Instead of spending money needlessly on flypaper, you can use granulated fly bait safely. Simple, safe and cheap!
Steps
- Get a liter empty pop plastic bottle or any other plastic bottle with a screw on lid of about that size.
- Take a razor knife or other sharp edged implement, and 3" to 4" from top of bottle remove a {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} square. on both sides leaving a strip to hold top and rest together.
- Put a cup hook into lid.
- Put a square of folded paper towel into bottom of bottle and add fly bait granules from feed store about 1/8 cup per bottle.
- Place in barns over animals areas by hanging out of reach in rafters by the hook. Check if you have to refill.
- Finished.
Tips
- This prevents kids, cats and any other pet from getting to the poison!
- Vegemite mixed with water will attract them too, no poison!
- Flies will find bait they will eat and die. at end of fall take down and throw out and make new ones each spring!
- Also if you cut one bottle 1/4 from the top and invert it in it's self like a funnel an tape it, this will trap them. NO POISON/COST.
Warnings
- Always use gloves when coming into contact with bait! After all, it is poison!
