Steps

  1. Always keep numerous emails going with friends. This requires typing, making you sound busy.
  2. Check the news. There are many different news services on the Internet to waste time.
  3. Read all of the newspapers in your local area. You can also read news online.
  4. Make full use of your breaks. Take an extra couple of minutes.
  5. Look for a new job online.
  6. Download Google talk and use Meebo.com if you can not get AIM.
  7. Do Sudoku or crosswords.
  8. Start writing a novel or a blog. It will even look like you are busy.
  9. Forward any work-related issues to your boss. It makes them think you're on top of things.
  10. Don't clock-watch! Checking the time every time you feel the urge will only make time go slower. Instead, occupy yourself with something that's somewhere on your to-do list and only look at the clock when you need to. You'll find that an hour or two will pass easily!
  11. Listen to an audiobook while you work!
  12. Update your status on Facebook or Twitter! You can easily do this on your cell phone, and if you work for an office, which has many Blackberry's, iPhones, and what not, it will seem as you are checking your e-mail or something.
  13. Jazz up your nothing but boring job. Do you sit in a cooped up office all day? Try making friends with co-workers, or meet up for a group-effort work-hour.
