Make Lavender Tea
Lavender; a pale violet flower known well for its wonderful stress reducing properties. Have one of these plants lounging around in your garden? Try brewing yourself a steamy cup of pure relaxation.

Ingredients
Honey lavender tea:
- 2 tbsp fresh lavender florets, chopped
- 8 cups cold water
- Honey (if preferred sweet tea)
Just lavender tea:
- 4 teaspoons fresh lavender buds or 1 tablespoon dried
- Water
Lavender and chamomile tea:
- 1 teaspoon lavender buds
- 1 teaspoon chamomile buds
- 8 ounces hot water
Lavender and peach iced tea:
- {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} water
- 3 cups lavender tea and 1 large tablespoon of dried lavender buds
- 5 white peaches
- 50 g sugar
- 70g sugar syrup
Steps
Honey and lavender tea
- In a medium sized teapot, bring the water to a boil and remove from the heat. Set aside.
- Using a tea ball or sachet, fill with the lavender and secure the lid or sachet opening well.
- Steep the lavender in the teapot for 10 minutes.
- Serve among tea cups and enjoy.
Just lavender tea
- Place the lavender buds into the teacup or mug.
- Pour 1 cup of boiling water over the lavender buds.
- Place a saucer or small plate over the cup or mug to keep the steam inside. Let the flavors infuse for 5 minutes.
- Remove the "lid". Enjoy your lavender brew.
Lavender and chamomile tea
Both lavender and chamomile are renowned for their calming abilities. This is a nice tea to unwind with and it tastes great too. Chamomile has a slight apple flavor.
- Place the lavender buds and chamomile buds into a tea strainer or tea ball.
- Place into the cup or mug. Pour hot water over the tea strainer to fill the mug or cup.
- Let steep for 10 minutes. Enjoy a refreshing and calming drink.
Lavender and peach iced tea
- Pour the lavender tea into a jug or pitcher. Add the lavender buds.
- Place in the refrigerator to chill. Leave there for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Strain out the buds.
- Place the sugar and sugar syrup into a heavy-based saucepan. Bring to the boil while stirring.
- Remove from the heat. Allow to cool.
- Pour into the jug or pitcher holding the chilled lavender tea.
- Cut up the peaches into slices. Add to the jug or pitcher.
- Return to the refrigerator. Let chill for a minimum of 3 hours, covered.
- Serve cold. Add ice cubes for hot weather.
Tips
- Lavender flowers are completely safe and edible.
- If lavender flowers are out of your reach, you may substitute for a few drops of pure lavender oil.
