Make Music 8 Bit
Did you know that there is software that can change any MIDI file to old-fashioned 8-bit video style? For example, there is a MIDI song by a band you like. Put it into the software and now it sounds like it could be in a game for the NES.
Steps
- Go to Google (or your favorite search engine).
- Type in "gashisoft" and hit enter.
- Click on the link that begins with "geocities.co.jp".
- Download as you see fit.
- Once downloaded, open the software.
- To open and play a MIDI, simply drag the MIDI over the Gashisoft window.
- It should say something like "buffering, please wait..."
- Experiment and have fun!
Tips
- The paper lets you publish, aka save, the now 8-bit song.
- The hammer lets you change settings.
- For the full effect of 8-bit music, change the instrument set in settings to Famincom like set to use NES like sounds only.
- Mute all channels expect the four or five main channels(the channels that make the base of the music.).
Warnings
- Be sure to read all of Gashisoft's terms of use and agreements.
