Make Natural Organic Hair Oil

Coconut oil, Henna powder or leaves, Fenugreek and Nigella seeds have been used since ancient times as products for hair care. These three ingredients provide solutions to all sorts of hair problems including hair fall, dandruff, dryness, bald patches, lack of shine and moisture, and any other hair problem you can possibly think of. No more use of harmful chemicals on your precious hair. It is time to go organic!

Ingredients

  • coconut oil: 2 large cups
  • fresh henna leaves: approximately 2 stems full with leaves
  • fenugreek seeds: 2 tblsp
  • nigella seeds/ black seeds: 2 tblsp

Steps

  1. In a large saucepan heat the coconut oil, as soon as the first boil comes turn off the heat.
  2. Immediately add the henna leaves with the stems.
  3. Leave the contents in the saucepan until the oil has cooled down.
  4. Strain the oil in a glass jar in which you want to store the oil.
  5. Add the fenugreek and nigella seeds in it and also a few burnt henna leaves.
  6. Place the jar in sunlight for 3-4 days.

Apply

  1. Warm a metal bowl on the stove.
  2. Put a few drops of the oil in it.
  3. Once the oil is slightly warm apply it on the scalp.
  4. Massage very gently with the finger tips, this will increase the blood circulation.

Tips

  • If fresh Henna leaves are not available, dry ones can also be used.
  • It is best to apply hair oil before going to sleep at night as the whole body is relaxed and better results are achieved.

Warnings

  • Always wear heat protective gloves when handling hot oil.
  • Do not apply too much oil, apply a moderate quantity depending on your hair length. Too much oil on the scalp restricts the oxygen absorption by the hair follicles.
  • When heating the oil turn on the exhaust and open the windows because strong smelling fumes will be produced when the henna leaves are burnt in the oil.
  • Never apply very hot oil on the scalp.
