Make a Bandanna Purse

If you're not much of a sewing person but don't mind very easy projects, then this bandanna purse is likely to be just your style. It's easily put together using merely a bandanna and you can either sew by hand or run it together on the sewing machine.

Steps

Preparing the Bandanna

  1. Select a bandanna that pleases you. Choose a nice new one, so that the bag appears fresh and is strong.
  2. Iron the bandana flat.

Sewing the Bandanna Bag

  1. Fold the bandana in half. Fold it in half again into the shape of a square. The folded side will become the bottom of the purse.
  2. Stitch two sides of the purse together by hand or by machine. Leave the top of the purse open––this serves as the opening of the bag, with the fold serving as the base of the bag.
  3. Add a handle for carrying. Stitch in place a ribbon, adding it to both sides of the opening, as a strap.
  4. Finished. This makes a fine lightweight purse for carrying a wallet, a slim paperback, some makeup and perhaps a few candies.

Tips
