Using Microsoft Office Word

  1. Open Microsoft Word.
  2. Click 'Tools' then 'Options'.
  3. Choose 'Security'.
  4. Type your password in both boxes, then click 'Ok.'
  5. Use this Word Document as your computer diary. If you want more security, then follow the steps below.
  6. Decorate your new diary with pictures and whatever else you want to use.
  7. Type your entries, then change the font to something like 'wingdings' (or change the font color to white) and that way, even if someone guessed the password, they wouldn't be able to read it unless they changed the font.

Using "Word Diary Creator" Software Get a Microsoft Word Document for Diary

  1. Go to www.createadiary.com.
  2. Download(size 1.8M) and Install it.
  3. Setting starting and ending dates.
  4. Add one event for daily diary.
  5. Click ‘Start’ : Word Diary Creator application can automatically create a Microsoft Office Word document, it include a calendar and daily diary,them can be connected with each other.

Using "My Journal" Software

  1. Go to www.download.com .
  2. Search for 'My Journal ' and download the free 'My Journal 1' program. Or, download it directly from this location: http://www.download.com/My-Journal/3000-2074_4-10571501.html?tag=mncol , and click the blue Download Now hyperlink.
  3. Following the provided steps after downloading, the software choose a password and username you can remember.
  4. If somebody comes in the room while you're typing an entry, hit the 'Esc' button on your keyboard and the program will save where you are and log out immediately.

Using Zipped Folder

  1. Create a new folder on your desktop.
  2. Add some normal files (like ordinary documents) inside the folder.
  3. Add a compressed zipped folder to the new folder.
  4. Password protect the compressed folder.
  5. Write your diary text in a Word Document inside your regular folder, but outside your zipped one.
  6. Drag your diary text into the zipped folder.
  7. Now, whenever YOU access the folder with a password, you can click on your diary file and type away!

Using 'Mémoires' App

  1. Just download it.
  2. To doodle, just press the command button and D. Press insert if you want to.
  3. When someone enters the room when you're in the middle of writing an entry, you can press command and H to hide it. You can also press the close button so it will save too.
  4. Don't put it on the dock or else people who share your computer knows you have a diary.
  5. This (might) only work for Mac.

Tips

  • Choose a password you can remember, but that no one else can guess.
  • For even more security, encrypt the file.
  • You can put the font into white so they won't see it or you can change the font into VBDings, Bella K. Dings Are Cool, Wingdings, MTF Sweet Dings, KBABCDoodles, etc.
  • Don't call the file "Diary", call it something boring like "French Revolution Essay"

Warnings

  • If you forget your password, you won't have access to your diary! Write your password down and keep it in a safe place.
