Make a Frozen Piña Colada

There are many recipes but this is virtually the same one that won the 1972 Piña Colada championship in Puerto Rico. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. (90 ml) coconut cream
  • 6 oz. (180 mL) pineapple juice
  • 1.5 oz (45 mL) heavy cream (one and a half)
  • 2 oz (60 mL) rum
  • 2 cups of crushed ice

Steps

  1. Put 2 cups of crushed ice into your blender. Blend at high speed to eliminate big chunks of ice.
  2. Put all ingredients in blender
  3. Blend at max speed for about 15 seconds or until mix becomes thick.
  4. Pour into hurricane glass (or any glass you have).
  5. Garnish with pineapple slice or cherry.
  6. Add a straw.
  7. Finished.

Warnings

  • Do not blend for a long time. The mix may become too loose to be called a "frozen" Piña Colada.
