Make a Leave in Hair Conditioner
Hair conditioners are designed to add strength, smooth damaged follicles and retain the natural moisture levels in hair. Many conditioning products on the market, however, contain chemicals, synthetic ingredients, and silicone that can actually damage or build up in hair and ultimately dull and weigh it down. Leave-in conditioner is used to soften hair, protect against styling instruments, reduce frizz and detangle. It differs from regular conditioner because it is used in smaller amounts and is not rinsed away. You can make your own to control the ingredients you put in your hair. Here you will find helpful steps to show you how to make a leave-in hair conditioner.

Steps
Detangling Conditioner
- Add 1 tbsp. (15 ml) of apple cider vinegar to a clean spray bottle containing 1 cup (236 ml) of distilled water.
- Spritz into your damp hair and massage in thoroughly with your hands for softer, tangle-free hair.
Softening Conditioner
- Add your favorite conditioner into a clean spray bottle with distilled water. The ratio should be approximately 1 part conditioner to 3 parts water but you can adjust the amount of water depending on your type of hair. If your hair is fine, use more water, but if your hair is thick and coarse, use less water.
- Spray into your damp hair and comb through prior to styling. It adds softness, reduces tangles and helps protect hair from styling instruments.
For Dryness and Dandruff
- Mix 1 cup (236 ml) of distilled water into a clean spray bottle with 1/2 cup (118 ml) of Aloe Vera juice.
- Melt 1 tbsp. (15 ml) of coconut oil in the microwave to liquefy. Squeeze the juice of 1/2 of a lime and add these to the bottle.
- Cut open 5 Vitamin E capsules and squeeze the oil into the mixture.
- Add 2 tbsp (30 ml) of vegetable glycerine and 2 drops of tea tree oil to the spray bottle.
- Shake well and spray onto damp hair for a daily leave-in conditioning treatment that helps fight dryness and dandruff.
Extra Moisturizing Conditioner
- Add 2 oz. (29 ml) of organic or all-natural conditioner to a clean spray bottle.
- Mix in 1 1/2 oz. (44 ml) of distilled water and 1/8 cup (29.5 ml) of coconut, avocado or virgin olive oil.
- Combine 1 tbsp. of vegetable glycerine to the mixture.
- You may add fragrance to this leave-in conditioner recipe if you like by adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil.
- If you can find silk peptide powder, you may add 1 tsp. (5 ml) to this recipe to add extra softness to your hair.
Easy Leave-In
- Fill a standard spray-bottle two-thirds of the way with water.
- Add a softening herbal conditioner. You shouldn't add more than a tablespoon.
- Add a teaspoon of olive oil.
- Shake well.
- Apply to hair before brushing. You can use a fine comb to more easily distribute it.
- Take a drop of essential oil. Comb that in on top of the leave-in conditioner. (Don't put it in the conditioner itself, it just clashes with all of the other ingredients.)
- Go out and flaunt your beautiful hair.:)
