Make a Meat Dry Rub for BBQ

This is an old family dry rub recipe that goes great on its own, or you can add sauce for a more layered flavor palate on your BBQ'd meat.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp cumin
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add your sugars and other dry ingredients.
  2. Mix the ingredients well till all of them are incorporated properly.
  3. Make sure the meat you are using is patted dry and pour the rub on the meat generously.
  4. Rub the seasoning into the meat so that it covers and coats the meat well.
  5. Cook the meat the way you wish by either pan fry, BBQ, broiling, etc.
  6. Finished.

Tips

  • Once the meat has cooked most of the way you can Make-a-Ketchup-and-Molasses-Based-Bar-B-Que-Sauce to it if you'd like or just eat it with the rub.
