Make a Mini Bow Hair Clip

Steps

  1. Make a chipboard template as shown. This will be vital to making your mini-bow. Cut the cardboard into the shown shape. Also, get a 3/8" ribbon, 4" long to use to make the bow.
  2. Place the ribbon under the template as shown and wrap the ribbon over.
  3. Make sure it is wrapped on both sides before you flip it.
  4. Pull the elastic tight and tie it into a tiny knot (on back).
  5. Remove mini bow from the template.
  6. Cut the ribbon if needed.
  7. Decorate the center by either sewing a tiny pearl or wrapping a piece of narrow ribbon. Hot glue mini bows on lined clips.
  8. Finished.

Tips

  • It helps to sew the sides of the ribbon before you start, to prevent fraying.
  • It's better to have the ribbon a bit too long than too short. If it's too long, you can cut it, but if it's too short, there's not much you can do about it.
  • You can use a lighter to heat seal the ends so they don't fray.
