Steps
Preparing the Teabags
- Collect used teabags. Set aside and allow to dry.
- Remove the contents from the teabags. Place the contents into a separate dish or bowl.
Making the Enrichment Mixture
- Crush one iron tablet into a fine powder. This iron supplement should be available from your local pharmacy, clinic, hospital, etc. Add it to the bowl of teabag contents and mix well.
- Add 500 mL/16.9 fl oz of water. Allow the remnants of the tea and tablet to dissolve in the water.
- Mix well for approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Mix until the liquid appears brown in color. You may use a spoon or simply swirl the container or bowl.
Using the Enrichment Mixture
- Add the mixture to the soil of potted plants and flowers, before watering them. Add as much as you wish. Large quantities will do no harm to the plants.
- Watch the plants flourish. Plants will grow healthier and even flower more abundantly.
- The absorbent nature of the loose tea will also help retain the moisture content in the plant pot or plant holder.
Tips
- It is advised to work with latex or rubber gloves.
