Make a Printed Temporary Tattoo

Print perfect detailed colour tattoos, easy as pie.

Steps

  1. Find a design you like and edit it to the right size for your tattoo. Print it and test to see where it looks best and is visible.
  2. Take the backer sheet from a used page of self-adhesive labels and put it in your printer so that it will print onto the shiny side. i.e. the side the labels used to be stuck to.
  3. Print the picture onto the page.
  4. Cut around the printed image being careful not to smudge the ink.
  5. Use the razor to shave the area you're going to apply the tattoo to and the alcohol swab to clean it. Not strictly speaking necessary, but will give better results.
  6. Wipe the glue stick across the desired area and carefully press the paper printed side down just the way you want it. You get one shot at this so take your time.
  7. Use the masking tape or medical tape or just your hand to hold the paper in place for ten minutes or so. Applying warmth and pressure with your hand probably helps, just try not to jiggle the paper too much.
  8. Slowly peel off the backer and you should have a fairly decent temporary tattoo in place. if it smudged or didn't adhere, just wash it off and try again.

Tips

  • Before you print the image reverse it in Paint on Windows Vista or Windows 7 so that when you put it on it is the right way on your skin

Warnings

  • Make sure you aren't allergic to the glue stick or anything by applying a small amount first. It's all pretty harmless stuff so there shouldn't be any problems, but be smart about it.
