Make a Secret Facebook Account

Parents can be strict when it comes to using the Internet. Putting your whole life on the Internet can be a major thing for your parents, but really they don't have to know do they? Here some tips on how to avoid getting caught with a Facebook:

Steps

  1. Make your account. Put in all the details you wish to include, but remember, don't include things like your address or number. Email addresses are fine because you can block that person if they seem suspicious.
  2. Try to arrange your computer so that the screen faces away from the door to your room. That way if your parents knock and come in, they won't see what you are up to. Then you can close the window which you were using.
  3. Try asking your parents if you can have a lock on your bedroom door. Say its to keep your younger brother or sister out (if you have any) while you do your 'homework'.
  4. Put a password on your user account on the computer, so that no one can get on to your account.

Tips

  • If you have Google Chrome, press ctrl+shift+n to make an incognito window, any pages you view on an incognito window won't show up in your browser history!
  • Clear your browsing history after you log out of your Facebook. You'll thank yourself for this at some point.
  • If your parents or anyone who would tell on you, have Facebook, make sure you set it so you don't appear in searches. Do this by going to Settings>Privacy
  • Make yourself the administrator so that only you can view the files and cookies etc. stored on your computer.
  • Make sure you are by yourself before getting on the Internet. They can easily look on your laptop/computer.
  • If you have Firefox, select the tools menu, and near the bottom of the list lies a button that reads "Start Private Browsing." Press it.
  • If your parents have blocked the site you want, use sites like Tigerprox or google.co.uk to get past the barriers.
  • Alternatively, you could just press Ctrl Shift P, which opens private browsing.
  • This doesn't just apply to Facebook, you can use this article for many other sites too.
  • If your parents have a Facebook try not to use your real last name, if you do your parents will find you easier and try to use your favorite celebrities last name instead, like for example Hannah Styles.

Warnings

  • Only add people you know. Never invite a complete stranger.
  • Do this at your own risk. If you get caught, have an excuse ready for your parents.
  • Watch out if your parents have a Facebook account too.
