Make an Invisible Cloak

Ever thought to yourself "Hmm... I wonder how can I make one of those fancy cloaks that Harry Potter has?" While true invisibility is impossible, you can use multiple cameras to create the illusion of transparency. This technique was first demonstrated by Kazutoshi Obana, a graduate student at Tokyo University in 2003. Oh yeah make sure to read the Discuss page.

Steps

  1. Buy a nice big white piece of fabric possibly 4’ x 9’.
  2. Buy 2 mini cameras.
  3. Cut our fabric in two halves, lengthwise.
  4. Put both of the halves on top of each other, and then cut out 2 L-shaped pieces for the arms of your shirt.
  5. Sew together both pieces of fabric into a shirt figure.
  6. Buy 2 mini projectors and 2 battery packs.
  7. Cut a small hole in the center of the back and the front of the shirt
  8. Put the lens in between the holes.
  9. Connect the cables to the opposite side of the shirt (red - red; yellow- yellow; white - white)
  10. Turn on the cameras and the projectors, and there you have an invisibility shirt!

Tips

  • Instead of making your own shirt, you can just buy a white T-shirt, not those undershirt types, buy a nice thick shirt 2 sizes higher then yours
  • If you are a super safety freak, you can put some sort of rubber casing around the electric wires, or you could get an electrician to do it for you.

Warnings

  • Do not turn on during a storm
