Make an Origami Gift Box
Is it your best friend's birthday? Or your mom's? Have you already bought a gift for them, but don't want to waste money on a box? Learn how to make one here!
Steps
- Fold the paper into half diagonally.
- Now open it and fold it again on the opposite side.
- Now fold all the corners into the centre that was formed by the first 2 folds.
- Now fold all 4 sides into the centre. Don't fold in the corners but the sides. Open up to step 3 again.
- Open 2 opposite triangles.
- Fold the 2 triangles along their horizontal creases. Refer to the image.
- Take the left side and crease to create one side of the box.
- Fold this side into the box.
- Repeat with the last unfolded side.
- Now decorate it as you like and you're done!
- Finished.
Tips
- To make a lid, make another box using a square slightly larger than the first.
- If you don't have origami paper, just take a A4 size sheet and fold it at the top leaving a rectangle at the end, then cut the rectangle off.
- Another way to make the lid is to use paper the same size as the box, but when doing step six don't pull the parts in all the way.
