Manage Google Chrome Notifications on a PC or Mac
This article teaches you how to customize the way you receive website notifications in Google Chrome.

Steps
- Open Chrome. It has a round red, green, and yellow icon. If you’re on a Mac, you’ll find it on the Dock or in the Launchpad. If you have Windows, it’ll be in the Start menu.
- Click ⁝. It’s at the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Click Settings.
- Scroll down and click Show advanced settings. It’s at the bottom of the page.
- Click Content Settings…. It’s the first button in the “Privacy” section.
- Set your Notification preferences. Choose one of the following options:
- Allow all sites to show notifications. This allows any website you visit to push notifications to your desktop through Chrome.
- Ask when a site wants to show notifications. If you visit a website that wants to send notifications to your computer, you’ll be prompted to allow or deny them. This is the default setting.
- Do not allow any site to show notifications. This disables all notifications from websites.
- Scroll down and click Done. It’s at the bottom of the page. If you changed your notification preferences, they’ll take effect immediately.
