Manually Adjust the Time and Date on a Sony Auto‐Set Alarm Clock
The time on any alarm clock may be adjusted. However, with Auto-Set alarm clocks, the time doesn't look easy to fix. But with only a few extra steps, you can fix these too. This article will explain how to manually adjust the date and time on these Sony Auto-Set alarm clocks.
Steps
- Press and hold the "Time" button, until you hear 2 beeps. Release the "Time" button, when you hear those 2 beeps.
- Press the Time button again until the selected portion you'd like to adjust is blinking. It will allow you to adjust the following items in the following order by pressing the Time button successively: the year, the month, the day,the hour (AM or PM) and finally the minute portion.
- Use the plus and minus keys to advance forward and backward the individual entries, depending on how much off the item really is.
- Adjusting the AM to PM setting can be done, by increasing or decreasing the hour portion of the time, so it extends over the noon or midnight hour.
- Save your settings. Press the Time button again, to save your settings.
Tips
- If your battery ever runs out and you need to replace it, don't ever unplug your device. If you do, you'll loose all settings and the device will never be auto-set ever again. Always leave your device plugged in when changing the battery.
- If you live in an area where Daylight Savings Time isn't observed, most of the Sony Auto-Set alarm clocks will come with a DST button that, after a simple press, will turn off this feature, thereby changing the hour depending on the day it is set up. Realize that these Daylight Savings Time rules, are for the 2007 Daylight Savings Time date adjustment.
- On most Auto-set alarm clocks, there will be a light for when the battery runs low. Listen to this light thoroughly and carefully. You never want this light to come on for a long time. It can be disastrous for the clock.
- From the time the clock came to you from the factory, the time should be always almost correct, there will be a time that slight variations in this time will be apparent. Don't let this auto-set time become foolproof.
- When your Sony Alarm clock was pre-programmed, the clock was pre-programmed with Eastern time in mind. However, if you live anywhere else, you'll need to adjust the hours using this method.
