Animal Jam is a popular online game, and like most popular games, some people want to know how to hack it. While there are no legitimate hacks to get items or membership time, there are plenty of ways you can try to access someone else's account. Because of the low age of most Animal Jam players, accessing accounts is easier than many other games.
Steps
Guessing a Password
- Beware of some false hacks. Since all of the Animal Jam information is stored on the Animal Jam servers, you can't hack to add Gems or memberships to your account. Any hack that claims to allow this is fake, and is only scamming you to get you to fill out a survey or install a virus. Avoid any hack that claims to give you unlimited Gems or add time to your membership, as this simply isn't possible. Never enter your Animal Jam username, password, or email address on a hack website.
- Open the Animal Jam launcher. One of the most common ways to hack someone is to simply try to guess a username and password combination . Since many Animal Jam users are young, passwords can be pretty easy to guess. This can take a lot of time, and you may never find a working combination, but it has been known to work.
- Enter a username based on something popular. People tend to name their Animal Jam accounts based on characters from popular media. If you need some ideas, just log in and make notes of some common character names that you see.
- For example, you could enter "rainbowdash", a name of a popular My Little Pony character.
- Enter a password related to the name. Chances are that the user has chosen a simple password so that it can be easily remembered. If their account is named after a character, the password is likely based on the title of the show, book, or movie that the character came from.
- For example, if you entered "rainbowdash" as the user name, try "mylittlepony" as the password. Animal Jam doesn't require numbers or special characters for passwords, so they'll typically be simple.
- Try the first combination. If you're incredibly lucky, the first combination will work. Usually, though, you'll need to try different combinations.
- Add a "1" to the end of the username. Popular names are usually taken pretty quickly, and users who want the name will add a number to the end of the name to make it unique. Keep the same password and try the new username.
- Continue adding numbers and trying the new combination. If adding "1" doesn't work, add a "2" and try again. Continue doing this until you either get one that works or you decide to try a different username.
- Some people will put their birth year after the name to make it unique. Try adding two and four digit years to see if you can get one that works.
Tricking Someone
- Understand the risks. Tricking someone out of their password can result in you getting banned from the game. Impersonating staff is against the terms of the game. Proceed at your own risk.
- Create a new account with a name that sounds official. The key to being able to trick someone out of their password is to create a name that looks official. You can't include "AJ", "admin", or "animaljam" in your name, but you can choose something like "helper50" or "acctmgmt" (Account Management). A name like this will help make your target think you work for Animal Jam. But remember, if you get this account banned under your email, your email may get banned forever too!
- You don't want to use your regular account for this, or you could get it permanently banned.
- Find users that aren't around large groups. You'll likely get pointed out as a scammer by other, more astute players if you're trying to scam someone of their password in a large crowd. Find someone in a lonely corner to that you can talk privately.
- Write a message using official-sounding language. You'll be take a lot more seriously if your message appears to be written by someone that works for the Animal Jam company. Try a message similar to the following:
- "Hello, I work for the Animal Jam account management team. We're doing a routine audit of password security, if you could give me your password I can run it through our tool to check its strength. Your account will remain untouched, and we'll deposit a few Gems for your troubles."
- If the other person doesn't believe you, there's a good chance they'll report you to the admins and your account will be banned maybe along with your main account and your email so be careful!
- AJHQ can read what you say in chat so you may get banned (email and accounts!)
- Write down the password that they give, along with the username. If you're lucky, the other person will tell you their password. Write it down, along with their username, so that you can try it later.
- Wait a while to try the password. The person that you got the password from is likely still logged in, so you don't want to try the password yet. If you log in while they are still playing, they'll realize that you're using the password to access their account. Wait a while until you're pretty sure they're not logged on anymore, then give it a try.
Warnings
- Be aware that your account could be banned.
- Don't hack people too often; people might get irritated if you do it too often. Consider how you would feel if someone hacked you all the time.
