Not Get Hurt in a Fight
Everybody is going to have a point in which someone will try to attack you. This is not an article on how to beat the crap out of a bully, this is just a guide on taking the least amount of damage.

Steps
- Recognize aggressive behavior. If someone is trying to provoke you, don't challenge them.
- Be ready. Don't let them take you by surprise. If you're in a situation where you think someone might attack you, stay vigilant.
- When they come at you, the first thing you want to do is take a step back and put your hands up. This will give you a second to collect yourself and get ready.
- Don't attack unless there's an opening. Wait until they throw a wild punch, then jab at their stomach.
- When you block, punish them. If they swing and you block it, add some snap to it so that you hurt their arm. Enough pain will make them back off.
- Bob and weave. You don't have to be doing matrix moves, just make sure that if you miss with a block that you won't be wide open.
- If they're bigger and stronger than you, it's most likely they'll try to grapple with you. Don't let them grab onto you.
- When they've had enough, don't keep beating on them, no matter how tempting it is. This could enrage them enough to try to keep fighting you, and will also be used against you if they try to get you in trouble.
Tips
- A kick to the knee can make them fall, and then run.
- Be ready to take a punch. Many times, a person will train and train, taking martial arts classes and practicing every day, and then someone will hit them in the stomach and they're out for the count.
- Don't be aggressive. The best way to get hurt is to pursue your enemy. Let them do the work.
- Avoid them! If you're not in a fight, you can't get hurt.
- Odds are, once they know that you'll fight back, they'll back down. Once you have them off your back, don't keep hurting them. If you do, it will be harder to call it self defense.
- Don't go into combat unless you REALLY have to.
- For girls: Other girls are going pull your hair. Tie up you hair so that they won't pull it.
- Walk away from the people who want to get into a fight with you. Don't seem too obvious that you are avoiding it unless they are getting you right away, make excuses like " I've gotta go" or " I don't have time for this" before they beat you up. Run to a crowded place or an adult to tell them what had happened, don't face all this by yourself!
- Kick them in the genitals, this will hurt very much allowing you to do more damage while they are on the ground.
Warnings
- Be prepared for trouble if you end up hurting whoever is trying to hurt you.
- Only use this information in a self-defense circumstance.
- Do NOT take this and try to go beat up the bully that's been picking on you for the whole school year or whatever. This is how to survive a fight, not how to beat up your enemies.
Things You'll Need
- A level head and an ability to work under pressure.
- At least enough strength to hurt your opponent.
