Pack Your Purse
Forget diamonds, a purse is a girl's best friend. A purse goes with you everywhere. Whether it's a cute and compact clutch or a chic shoulder tote, you'll need it to carry all of the things that will get you through the day in style.
Steps
- Pack your wallet. Choose a wallet that has enough pockets for your bank card, credit cards, etc. Make sure the wallet also fits into your purse. Also, keep an identification in your wallet in case the wallet is lost or stolen.
- Pack any makeup that you use daily for quick fixes. Also pack a mirror, hair bands, bobby pins, small hairbrush or comb, and a nail file.
- Always bring tampons or pads. You don't want to be surprised and unprepared, and you may need to lend supplies to another girl. Some emergency Advil or Tylenol can be useful, too.
- Pack your cell phone, and a charger if needed. You can also purchase extra batteries and keep them charged so they can be switched throughout the day.
- Have your keys with you, even if you don't think you will use them. It's better to have them and not use them than to be locked out of the house or having to call for help.
- Having a pen and a notepad is very helpful. You may need to write down a phone number, a schedule change, or an important reminder.
- Be sure to bring tissues. A runny nose can be a pain (not to mention embarrassing!).
- Always have an emergency $10 bill and several quarters in case you forget money or are short change.
- Never forget the first-aid. Even if you think it's unnecessary, you never know when you'll need a band-aid or a small tube of anti-biotic ointment.
- In case you get bored or have nothing to do bring along a music player of some sort so you can listen or sing along to music anytime anywhere.
- If you're a DIY (Do It Yourself) sort of person, bring along some needle and thread. This way, you can temporarily fix a ripped shirt or shorts.
- Keep track for a week or two of everything that you feel you need. Make a list of it, and be sure to put these items in your purse, along with some emergency items as well.
Tips
- Small mirrors are extremely useful items in a makeup kit.
- Packing headphones can help if you are bored and need to listen to music on your iPod, whether you are on your way home from work, bus rides, or even grocery shopping!
- Take advantage of the side pockets in your purse. They will help to keep everything organized.
- Don't forget to clean out your purse at least once a week , even once or twice a month is fine.
- Makeup bags are handy to keep things organized in your purse. You can use them for makeup, of course, and for concealing personal items or for things you will remove from or put into your bag throughout the day (ex: going from school to work, work to the gym, etc.)
- If you need to pack lighter, you can purchase travel sized lotions, deodorant, etc. to save space.
- If you wear nylons or tights a lot, you should keep some clear nail polish handy in case you get a run in them. This way the run will not spread into a larger hole.
- Having Ziploc bags is very handy, whether it's keeping messy items from wrecking your bag or taking home a leftover sandwich from lunch.
- Pack some extra clothes in case your outfit currently gets ruined or soiled. You can bring tights, underwear, bra, and a tank top.
- Always have a small package of Kleenex with you. Also, your sunglasses and some mints/gum!
- Make sure you have everything in your bag before you leave.
- Bring at least 1or 2 chap stick's along so in case you have dry lips, you could put it on wherever you want.
- Put in a mini bottle of acne cream and a snack.
Warnings
- Often a thief will only take a wallet from a purse. In case this happens, be sure to keep an extra 10 or 20 dollars and a form of ID somewhere in your purse other than your wallet. Also, don't keep any important receipts or paperwork in your wallet that cannot be replaced.
- If you want to pack perfume, it is a good idea to buy the lotion that comes with the set to put in your purse. This way you won't break the bottle and lose all of your perfume.
