Paint Digital Camouflage

Digital camouflage (also known as ACU, MARPAT, and DIGICAM) is a divine pattern that is useful on the battlefield and on display for its beauty and geometry. This article is for spray painting objects and surfaces that are safe to use spray paint on.

Steps

  1. Find an object to spray paint the digital camouflage on. (Plastic objects work best. Ex.: squirt guns, Airsoft guns, spray paint-friendly surfaces)
  2. Check the Things You'll Need section for supplies.
  3. Buy three (preferred #) cans of different color spray paint. (For woodland digital buy dark brown, black, and dark green; for glamouflage, buy purple, white, and black)
  4. Cut out geometric shapes using graph paper
  5. Tape off the parts of the object that are sprayable (plastic parts if you're painting an airsoft gun)
  6. Spray black and brown spots on random parts of the object and make sure that the spots are big enough that the shapes don't overlap the borders of the spots (don't put the spots too close together)
  7. Wait 10-20 minutes for paint to dry.
  8. Tape the shapes to the spots so that when you spray the green, it won't cover the black or brown under the shapes (make sure shapes are flat; blue painter's tape doesn't peel the paint when you peel it off; taping is optional, but recommended)
  9. Spray taped off areas with green spray paint
  10. Peel shapes off and throw away
  11. Wait 20-30 minutes to dry
  12. Enjoy the new paint!

Tips

  • Be careful not to smudge the paint or let excess paint drop on other parts of the object when the paint is wet
  • Always spray paint on top of old newspapers and not directly on grass.
  • If you can't do this yourself, you can pay select shops to paint your object or if you want an ACU airsoft gun, look for one you want before choosing.

Warnings

  • If you don't tape off the parts, there is a risk of ruining the object.
